All Done With Apples

Since Vivi has started eating solids, her way of letting us know that she is "all done" is to give a few "rasberries."  We quickly figured out that apples aren't one of her favorite foods.

Telluride Travels

We had a great time in Telluride, Colorado this weekend.  We rented a house in the ski area of Mountain Village and were able to ride the Gondola into Telluride.  The weather was wonderful, much cooler than Farmington.  We had excellent meals out with stunning views and Vivi was an angel.

My First Tooth

Vivi cut her first tooth today.  Thankfully it didn't seem to bother her too badly.  Here is a picture of her showing off her tooth at dinner in Telluride (a week later).

Rock & Roll

Vivi started getting up on her knees today and rocking back and forth.  She will also lunge and hop so we predict that crawling isn't too far away!

Toy Time

Vivi loves the toys that her friend Emma gives to her once she has outgrown them.  She especially likes anything that has lights and plays music.  Emma comes to see us several times a week to stroll side by side with Vivi on a walk around the neighborhood.  Sometimes the girls "play" before our walk.

I'm An Aussie!

Vivi became an Australian Citizen today!  Her Daddy is especially happy.  Now we just have to get her an Australian passport and she will be ready to do some international travelling!

My Shadow

Since Vivi was fairly small, she has noticed her shadow against the wall while laying on the change table.  Today, she started playing with her shadow on the playmat.  She started out by shaking a toy into the shadow but quickly realized that her hand was much more interesting.  She created some fairly impressive "hand puppets"

My First Art Project

Our neighbors Dave & Ju Ju (Julia) went on a 3 week trip to Oregon.  Vivi missed her New Mexico Grandparents so much that she wanted to make them a welcome home sign.  Daddy was taking care of their plants but unfortunately one died so Vivi made a replacement.  This was her very first art project : )

Catch Me If You Can

Vivi continues to love moving around the kitchen with the assistance of her walker.  She is now practically "running".  For all of you worried grandparents, the baby gate has been installed : )

My New Tricks

Vivi has discovered how to fake cough.  She thinks this is so funny and will start to fake cough when she wakes up from her naps.  She loves for us to ask her if she is ok.  She will then stop for a minute but quickly decides she hasn't had quite enough attention so will give us a few more coughs.   Sometimes she will also combine yoga into her fake coughing routine : )

My Friend Ellie

Vivi has become quite attached to her friend Ellie the Elephant.  Ellie travels in her stroller and car seat at all times and is able to prevent the rare meltdown.  Ellie also gets to make an occasional special appearance on Vivi's highchair.  Vivi has recently started to give Ellie kisses.

Daddy Says Eat Your Greens

Vivi got to taste a bit of "real" food today when she tried green beans for the first time.  She doesn't seem to like them quite as much as the rice cereal but has still eaten every bite.
